Casa Spello is a unique 700-year-old historic property that houses four completely restored units with all the modern amenities while preserving the charm of its historic character. Casa Spello was a “labor of love” project for well-known local architect Stefano Antinucci, who restored famous Spello sites such as the Properzio towers and the Roman aqueduct.
This beautiful property is conveniently located within the ancient city walls in the heart of the historic center. It boasts one of the most panoramic views in Spello. It is only a few steps from Porta Venere which is flanked by the famous Torri Di Properzio.
On a clear day, you can see the church towers of Assisi, the distant towns of Perugia, Montefalco, and Foligno, and the rolling hills with olive groves and vineyards. The property garden has a 1,800 year old Roman wall.
Our lovely garden is an ideal setting for al fresco dining or just sipping an espresso before you take off for your daily excursions. Sunsets are spectacular from the garden and from the apartments’ windows.
Casa Spello has four residences of different sizes which can open up to each other to accommodate larger parties. It has a large garden which is available to all our guests. All the units are built with beautiful hand-carved peach-colored stones from nearby Subasio Mountain.
The residences are elegantly furnished with “antique style and rustic” furnishings and local Deruta hand-painted ceramics. Our apartments provide modern amenities, including fully equipped kitchens, wi-fi internet connection, and washing machines in all the units. There are dishwashers in all the units (except in Cleopatra). Each of the units is unique and provides a great setting from which to explore Spello and its surroundings.
